I should be really excited about this, but something about one of the Coen's going solo feels fundamentally wrong. Like I'm sure they know what they're doing and the movie will be great, but it's like your parents getting divorced or something. I DON'T LIKE IT.

NYFF opening night films: The Irishman, Life of Pi, 13th, Gone Girl, Captain Phillips, The Favourite... it's a good trend I think.

 

Honestly if this is bad.... a Macbeth by Coen with Denzel and Frances is "How Do You Fuck That Up???" territory.

Looks like the last few openers were, in reverse order:

Lover's Rock - The Irishman - The Favourite - Last Flag Flying - 13th - The Walk - Gone Girl
