This is done to cash in on a potential Oscar nomination, unlike Dragon Ball Super Broly.

It had a $1,806,099 OW playing in 486 theatres ($3,716 PTA). I wonder if that's just enough for the studio to expand this wide. I doubt it. Not quite strong enough to project a decent wide opening.

This is already triple previous GKIDS record, I can see this stop at around 8m

Just saw this. It's decent, and third act rather nice. Doesn't have any of the wonder and magic of Your Name. Still enjoyed it definitely, and the director clearly understand how to grab your heart strings... but it just made me keep thinking of how much more beautiful Your Name was.
 

Also found it a bit confusing with some of the side characters.

I haven't seen Your Name since the theater but I kinda feel like I prefer WWY. Need to see Your Name again.
