Only three theaters in the Lisbon area showing a Fast & Furious film. Only. Fucking. Three.

Insanity.

I probably won't see a Fast & Furious movie in theaters because of this. Forum Barreiro and Rio Sul Seixal are filth, I don't like going there, and Setúbal is a bit too far away just for a movie that I will have to pay full ticket price for because none of the discounts that work on NOS Cinemas will be valid on Cinema City. I ended up seeing Anna this weekend. What reality is this?

So right around GOTG2. That feels right.

Yesterday has been a bright spot in a summer that's been low on non-Disney/MCU ones. Gonna land right between $70-75M.

I agree. it will pass 68M on Monday to have a 4X multiple off its opening weekend. Probably headed to about a 4.3X.

Also, as mentioned good hold for OUaTiH, i thought it would drop more. it definitely looks like it should do at least 120M.

Ah c'mon, Forum Barreiro and Rio Sul are kinda underrated. They're no Almada, Colombo or Montijo, obviously, but they serve well the cities they're based on  I've been to Évora Plaza - and I believe Évora is bigger than either Barreiro and Seixal, btw - and it looks like a dump next to Forum Barreiro and Rio Sul

But yeah, this whole situation is insane. Luc Besson is probably the only person happy about this. Simba doesn't count as a person. The Lion King is locked to beat Avatar, at this point.

Those cinemas are a disaster I am not touching that shit. Lion King is not fully locked yet... but it is close. Might fail to beat Avatar by a small margin. And I am expecting some great holds all around because the biggest theater chain (called NOS Cinemas) in the fucking country is not showing the latest Fast & Furious movie distributed by NOS Audiovisuais (which in their facebook say they are UNAWARE of why this is happening, I am fucking speechless). My mind still explodes every time I write this.

The Rock is a moral victory type of guy 😂

H&S is the highest domestic opening OTHER then Disney or Marvel this year. That's like saying The Warriors would be world champs, if The Raptors weren't there 😂. The Raptors ARE here, and they ARE the champs! H&S catching dust!

The highest audience rating of all the F&F movies...we all know what the REAL approval metric is 😂...$$$...and H&S is coming up 3rd or 4th!

It's the tactic of creating a worthless "sub catagory", to proclaim yourself the greatest 😂😂

Is H&S going to do under JW3's 170m? I think it will end somewhere in the 150s.

I would put better odds on it falling under but I think it's doing around 165 or so

I can't believe she's still going by Awkwafina. I mean it obviously hasn't hurt her career, so whatever, it just sounds absurd. That is all.

When did someone's stage name ever hurt their movie career? This is really a weird thing to complain about.

Oh, you meant the theaters, okay. I thought you meant the entire malls

If it's not locked, it's at least going to be #2 and that blows my mind almost as much as NOS refusing to air a Fast & Furious film - not only one of the biggest franchises in the country, but a franchise THEY DISTRIBUTE THEMSELVES - in their own theater chain. That's like Disney owning a theater chain of their own and then deciding not to air The Lion King in their own theaters. What the flying fuck is wrong with this country?!?!?!? :hahaha:

So this is definitely sort of a shameless plug, but I am starting a new season of Box Office Survivor!

It's a really fun story-based game that people who like predicting the box office can play!
