UK Box Office Thread

Recommended Posts

Just got back from my showing... Firstly, there were only 5 people who showed up without booking in advance, atrocious walkups.

Another thing to note, there was one person who was about 12, another two who were about 15, and one more who was about 17. That's the extent to which there were under 18s there...

So to all those hoping for Solo to do well over Memorial Day Weekend in U.S. due to kids watching it, the U.K. says bugger off to that

Deadpool looks busier at Vue Westfield than Solo. At some cinemas it's doing okay, but in some it's looking pretty diabolical.

Solo 1st two days be around 2.5,  DP2 Fri will be about 88% of Solo Fri (Aus DP2 was higher on Fri, NZ Fri two very close)

Looks like Solo is going to make around 65% of TFA's OD.. in 4 days.

Maybe £6m opening. The only thing that will benefit Solo is the fact it's bank holiday on Monday, and also kids are off this upcoming week as it's half term. But still, looking at a sub $30m total. Pretty horrendous. Too many SW films in just 2.5 years.

So basically exactly like Germany (375k adm. OW for Solo, 570k adm. OD for TFA (65.8%)

In $ it looks slightly nicer, still awful: $4.9M Ow for Solo and $7.1M OD for TFA (that might have been 7M or 7.2M, sorry) that would be 69%

And sub $30M, I had it at $50M and looked pessimistic...

Solo and Deadpool 2 (slightly) underperforming here in the UK as well as the US.

Honestly, I didn't expect even slightly drop for Deadpool 2 regarding predecessor. Solo, yes. Jurassic World, yes. But I was sure, Deadpool would make same money WW at least.

Hm...

So wait, we're looking at a £6M (8M $) opening weekend?  As in like, a 63% drop for RO's OW, with a 4 day opening weekend?  Is this real life?

It's post-TLJ reality.

That is one of the worst openings probably in history, really bad for holdovers too.

The BO is clearly suffering again as this is the 2nd weekend of very warm weather.
