RthDeadWov
AIW very slightly down last weekend Thanos probably just short of a getting a 69 for the weekend, on Monday for sure Edited June 3, 2018 by Rthanos 8

PPZVGOS
I find it a bit strange that AIW has just barely cracked into the all Time Top 10 (in local currency) at the UK box-office. It's getting close (but will be very difficult to overtake) to Mamma Mia, BatB and Toy Story 3. Titanic, The Last Jedi, Avatar, Spectre, Skyfall and Tho Force Awakens are miles ahead. Especially TFA which was (relatively speaking) an even bigger monster in the UK than in the US.

BatB, TS3 and HP:DH2 are all out of reach by this point, unlikely it beats BatB as it needs £3.6m off a £1m weekend, possible, but certainly difficult. And yeah, TFA did crazy money with almost 2x IW

On another note, very high concentration of Harry Potter movies (6) James Bond (4) Middle-Earth (4) and Star Wars (4), also 2 Avengers movies, plus another MCU entry with Black Panther. Lordmandeep
Comic Book Movies are not all time popular in the UK> IW reaching this goal is something none of us expected.

At least they don't hate it as much as Germans do
Rebeccas
I mean, if you look at North America domestic top 20 there's not a single Bond or Harry Potter film while those are huge in the UK.

Also, it's a bit shocker to see that outside of China, IW has no 100m grosser overseas , yet the OS total was still much higher than TFA, which scored 2 100m grosser in european

SW's problem is that it makes like all of its money from 2 continents only.

That being said, IW's OS-China number is about the same as TFA's OS-China, about 1b

Even if those markets are still good to make big money, they won't grow much, if at all. Whilst if you rely on Asia, LA, C-A and Afrika you are betting on Expanding markets that will grow big time. Thats why Avatar is looking alot better than Starwars for example (both TFA and Avatar were insane in Europe and Oceania) but A did also do big buisness in the devoloping markets. For example it's a lot harder for a starwars movie in 5 years to match TFA gross in Europe and Oc than it will be for an Avengers movie to gross what IW did, in 7 years from now. Just because the Avengers has the better markets to bet on. Edited June 5, 2018 by pepsa

AIW, on the other hand, is mega in some mid-sized markets, such as Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong. Basically, it has been a juggernaut in all of East Asia. On the other hand, it's such a shame that Latin American currencies are at such an ebb right now, otherwise we would have seen some eye-watering numbers from that region.
