This is pulling in extraordinary weekday figures.

Heretic
Is boxing day usually a huge cinema-going day in the UK? Not really sure what numbers are like over Christmas, so don't know what to expect from SW. After a quick look at advanced sales though, they are looking very strong, maybe even more so for Sunday the 27th. Assuming today was around £5.5m for a total of £51.4m, I'd expect something like: 24th: £4.6m 26th: £6m 27th £6.2m 28th: £4.2m 29th: £4.4m 30th: £4.1m 31st: £3m 1st: £4m 2nd: £4.5m 3rd: £4m £96.4m ($143m), nearly the top grossing film of all time, after the 3rd weekend.
Jonwo
NYD tends to be bigger than Boxing Day, this year's Boxing Day releases are really underwhelming, NYD is a bit better with Joy and The Danish Girl. Star Wars will drop the most on Christmas Eve and NYE but that's to be expected. It'll be number 1 for at least three more weeks. The Hateful Eight will likely be its first big competition followed by Creed and The Revenant a week later. Given how huge The Wolf of Wall Street was, I wouldn't be surprised if The Revenant grosses over £3-4m. Jonwo
It's interesting that Monday and Tuesday were higher than Wednesday but I assume it's due to people doing last minute shopping and the fact that Sunday was so busy that it spilled over onto Monday and Tuesday. Heretic
Tuesday has 2 for 1 too. But it barely dropped, like 5%.

To put into perspective, the same is expected of DOM run (720-730 after 3rd weekend, very close to Avatar). Astonishing

The Dark Alfred
Merry Xmas folks. Thu looking a tad over £5m, but that's a raw estimates, numbers coming in slower tonight. On the other news not SW related that GD dailies' matching Peanuts, not far behind at all, somewhat surprising, it rebounded really well and will cross £10m on Saturday.
Heretic
That's incredible for Christmas Eve! Dropped between just 10-15% then! So around £56.5m ($84m) Thu-Thu. Will be be close to the $100m after Sunday. Unbelievable numbers, the equivalent of around $600m in the US after the second weekend. Merry Christmas all!

solaris
Boxing Day is going to be huge methinks. How high can this go? £120m could be possible. God just think what this could have done based on pre 2008 exchange rates.
Heretic
It would have hit $250m back with those exchange rates. Crazy
