Yeah I liked but did not love the First movie but lots of people did and this movie will be big. The Lady Gaga factor is just icing on the cake for it's potential.

True but i think that's a testament to the characters draw in general, Phoenix or no Phoenix. Joker's last 3 appearances all adjust higher than the new one too (suicide squad only domestically) whereas Wolverine and Deadpool have become household names because of the 2 actors that play them I think.

Yes it is but I can't see it topping W&D

 

It's quite cool how Deadpool 1 and Joker both have one of the best budget to gross ratio's in their brands

Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux” is headed to TIFF for its North American premiere. A schedule has leaked, and it lists a September 9 premiere in Toronto. There will also be stops at other fall fests, including London (09.25) and New York (10.02).

Clearly , he will be the champion of WB for the Oscars , more than Dune 2. WB is very confident about the movie

the first movie had a 3/7 domestic/overseas split and adding the Gaga factor (she's way more popular in Europe and Latin America than in the US) I think the sequel's overseas boxoffice will definitely increase.
