They wrote a treatment it but were never up to direct I think. Daley and Goldstein of Dungeons and Dragons were attached though, until they went into a stalemate against competing draft by Grant Morrison and Ezra Miller themselves...until WB said fuck it and didn't use either draft and started over. yeah, but it sounds like the movie would be actively much worse without them so the fact that the actor who's blacklisted from the press of their own movie is the biggest saving grace for it is just kind of funky
