Cinema's closed past 5pm atleast till the 2nd week of januari. Very bad news for NWH also very bad news for Bond. Bond will barly pass Spectre whilst under normal non lockdown covid circomstances it would have cleared €23m with ease.

Belgium?

Everything still fine, don't think we will get worse restrictions so boxoffice should go normal, expecting a very big OW.

The problem is even though Belgium is quite a bit smaller than the netherlands, also Belgium is more frontloaded whilst the Netherlands have great legs.

So now cinema in Netherlands has to close before 5PM everyday?

How much it will affect the gross?

so cinema close after 5pm everyday will affect 30% of total gross for movie in general?

Cinema's closing after 5op will lead / has led to grossing at 20-30% of normal grosses

So basicly a reduction of 70-80% from normal.

Maybe holidays + weekends could retain a bit higher than that 20-30% because more people will go early  / can go in the afternoon but still very bad.

Lololol, English.

Charlie thought that, after 5PM today, theaters would be closed all day for next two weeks.

Update:

Everything closes in the Netherlands from tomorrow. A full lockdown and they won’t reopen until 14th January at the earliest.

Imagine 3 weeks later, after opening again and the cases rise again .... repeated cycle.

Its not the same. This is  to slowdown during christmas/holidays to avoid big get togethers. Makes sense as they have almost 15K cases today. It will wreck havoc on the hospitals with other stuff exacerbating as well.  Entire Europe looks bad at this time and population also skews old.

15k cases a day thats down from 22k already so it was getting better quite quickly, but yeah they probably don't want the numbers to stabilize or get worse again.
