TG: M, counted today at 11am EST for Friday:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 457 (13 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 580 (23 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 203 (21 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 130 (9 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 105 (16 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 940 (27 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 1.134 (24 showtimes)


Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 3.549.

Comps (all counted on Wednesday for Friday): Uncharted (44.0M OW) had 982 sold tickets,
F 9 (70M OW) had 2.812 sold tickets

and Angel has Fallen (21.4M OW) had 293 sold tickets.

Midways's (17.9M OW) final number was 361.

Well, even the „worst“ comp, F9 would mean 90M + a better Sunday than on normal weekends + Canada (where theaters were completely closed at that time, no?).
Other comps would mean...more 😉.

I just watched Top Gun Maverick and honestly... It's one of the best action movies I have ever seen. This is a really special movie and one that will easily engage even people who dont have a clue about the original. My theater was far from packed, but it was a lot more busy than expected for a 15:30 Wednesday screening.

I hate to use that word but its improbable. The PS ramp up does not suggest a number that high. I hope @ZackM can update friday again. It will need 45m true friday and that to me looks too high. 

 

That said even low end BOP prediction is a great number. let us not lose sight of that fact.

Good but I expected more. Let us see how things go tomorrow. Show count is there for a explosive friday if walk ups are as good as what I expect.
