Running them full time I'd guess probably 3 or 4 weeks? After that it'll lose them, maybe pop back if there's nothing else or share them I'd wager. Won't get 10 weeks without IMAX competition like the last one did.

3 4 weeks seems kind of short for something that has the potentially of being leggy and PLF heavy. What has changed since 2009 regarding IMAX? Does the industry hates money now?

I could see Plane getting some. Magic Mike 3 maybe? Should get at least 5 clean weeks at a minimum.

This movie is the reason IMAX exists. Even if there was a movie that might replace it, which there isn't, It's not losing screens in 3 to 4 weeks lol. C'mon. This is going to be a behemoth.

I imagine Avatar is going to get IMAX until Ant-Man comes out unless Knock at the Cabin (which is getting released in Dolby) gets a last minute release in the format. January looks utterly devoid of appealing product outside of M3GAN and A Man Called Otto, neither of which demand to be seen in large screen formats.

I think it could keep having a show at them as long as it keep running.

Avatar 1 had a 7 months+ run at an IMAX in India. Had 200k+ admits. Similar case in Sydney I think.

Ehhhh that would be A2's 9th weekend. It's probably making under $10M by then and MM will probably win that weekend.

on its 9th weekend the first Avatar made $23.6M ($31.7M adjusted) or $28.7M unadjusted counting the Presidents' Day holiday - with the opening of the winter Olympics

just for reference

I'm aware :)

You know what's funny though? I remember you predicted under $10M total dom for the re-release of A1 because I replied to you and thought you were off, and it ended up making around $24M.

kind of similar to the 9th weekend of A1 isn't it? :hahaha:

don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to dunk on you. It's just funny
