Yea we're gonna drop all this non tracking stuff. That expressly means you, @excel1. Next post from you that isn't tracking related is a thread ban.    Anyone else continues, it's points.

I was just tracking 251 theaters. My tracker is throwing error for many theaters. I am investigating and so will not post update. I think I missed many theaters for past few movies tracked at MTC2. 

 

That said critical number is MTC1 as that is the most dominant of all chains. 

 

 

On seattle I looked at 10 theaters around that region for MTC1.

WF MTC1 Seattle Previews - 5349/29127 89878.01 176 shows

 

I anecdotally looked at MTC3 at fandango but nothing special. They are doing way worse than MTC1 theaters. They have few MTC2 theaters I will update later today. I would not say Seattle is that big a deal as say NYC or LA or Chicago etc.

Unfortunately I got no Thor comps for the next couple days. But it wouldn't have changed much from yesterday so around 24M

Wakanda Forever MTC2 Previews - 148938/802185 2164964.11 5705 shows 316 theaters

 

So I was missed 65 theaters from the list due to MTC changing the links. Adding them makes a huge difference. I dont have any apples to apples comp for now. I will try to comp with same theaters as DS2/Thor for comp sometime over the weekend.

FWIW I've been looking at Thanksgiving weekend to see how theaters are booking stuff (at least what's on sale so far) and it looks like Black Panther is keeping all IMAX and PLF screens except Dolby which will showing it at night while Strange World (which is confirmed for that format) gets those screens during the day.

The next confirmed IMAX show is Evangelion, which is only a limited engagement on select days starting Nov 30

 

Also didn’t realize BPWF was getting IMAX 3D shows. Wonder how those will sell compared to the standard

Funny Story.

 

Saturday is my nieces birthday, so my mom and I said we’d take my nephew to Wakanda Forever while she was having her birthday party.

 

Buy tickets was a nightmare. First, I was so confused, because they were not showing up on Saturday. I so frustrated, I went to the theater only to find out that the theater is not open before 3 o’clock on weekdays anymore. 

 

When I got back home, I called over and got someone on the phone. They said: “well, we’re showing it in 3D! That’s why it wasn’t showing up.”

 

I actually think I let out a groan as “goddammit Disney trying to get people ready to watch Avatar 🙄” slipped out. We both laughed, but it also took two times to figure out which showing was not 3-D. Finally I got the 2D
 

But I also had her check the Thursday showings, because I was like I am not going to be sitting there crying dealing with my 3-D glasses over my regular glasses!!!
