Highest grossing Marvel movies excluding China

1) Avengers: Endgame:  $2.168 Billion

2) Spider-Man No Way Home:  $1.892 Billion

3) Avengers: Infinity War:  $1.678 Billion

4) The Avengers:  $1.433 Billion

5) Black Panther:  $1.242 Billion

6) The Avengers Age Of Ultron:  $1.163 Billion

7) Iron-Man 3:  $1.094 Billion

8)Captain Marvel:  $974 million

9) Captain America Civil War:  $963 million

10) Spider-Man Far From Home:  $927 million

Since China is the second largest market in the world but at the same time it's very inconstant* I removed its gross to make some comparisons fairer, in particular I was surprised by No Way Home over Infinity War, Age of Ultron doing less than Blak Panther or Civil War not reaching the billion. At the same time Multiverse of Madness ending up with 925M/950M doesn't look that bad anymore

*Think for example that just 15 years ago the market was basically irrelevant, or that in the past years several important movies weren't released or that now they also have to deal with sudden and unexpected lockdowns (like with The Batman)

NWH run is beyond impressive. Over Infinity War is just insane performance.

How can we get 8M more for 1.9B total? #re-releaseNWH

In theory the real international gross should be a bit higher since it hasn't been updated by a single dollar in 1 month and half...

From deadline, DS2 some show stabilisation too in overseas market in the 4th weekend. Should enjoy another relatively good hold this coming week before crashing down under JWD everywhere.

For its part, Doctor Strange 2 saw a good 44% drop overseas, even with some uptick in a handful of markets. The weekend was $22.9M in 49 markets for an international total of $497.9M with $868.7Mglobal (when counting domestic’s three-day frame).

Over the session, Germany (+4%) and Belgium (+1%) were up on the last while small dips were seen in Netherlands (-4%), France (-10%), Switzerland (-10%), Austria (-21%), Denmark (-21%), Sweden (-32%) and Mexico (-38%) among others.

The Top 5 to date are Korea ($48.3M), UK ($46.5M), Mexico ($38.5M), Brazil ($31.3M) and Australia ($24.7M).

Thank god DS2 released in SK at a time with no restrictions.....it's the only significant market carrying the OS.

Thanks God for what? for not having COVID messing with its performance?

It would have reached 900M even with a worse performance on SK and you need to stop acting as if it's a bad number let alone without China and Russia.

Months and you are still trying hard.

Deadline:

The now No. 10 global ($909.4M) and international ($520.7M) MCU release is also the biggest worldwide grosser of 2022 so far. And, it’s gotten there without China or Russia. The Benedict Cumberbatch/Elizabeth Olsen-starrer is the No. 1 movie of the pandemic in the Philippines as well as the 2nd biggest in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Israel, East Africa, Lebanon, Lithuania, West Africa, Slovakia, Syria, Turkey and all of Latin America, save Colombia.

The fifth overseas weekend brought in $11.4M in 49 markets. The overall drop was 53% with slight dips in Turkey (-3%), Taiwan (-11%), Portugal (-15%), Spain (-19%) and the UK (-21%).

The Top 5 market grosses to date are the UK ($50.3M), Korea ($49M), Mexico ($39.9M), Brazil ($32.5M) and France ($26.4M).

Does the MCU always need daddy china to cross the billion threshold ?

Aside from multiple movies that are easily over a billion even without China (including one that came out some months ago), if DS2 was released everywhere but China, it would still make a billion, so no

No it would not.

Yeah it would, it's gonna finish around $960M, Russia and Saudi Arabia alone would push it to a billion, Ukraine, Egypt and the rest of Middle East that banned it would be bonus.

Why not? For Marvel movies Russia is usually one of the 7/8 biggest markets, the first made 22M (more than France or Mexico) and the sequel would have easily surpassed the 35M. Then add the 10M it would have made in Saudi Arabia if they were a slighlty more normal country and with the missing Ukraine, Egypt, Qatar and Kuwait we are already at over 50 million dollars...

It is always have me amazed at no matter how sour the relationship between Russia and USA, they never ban any major Hollywood movie even if that movie depict Russian in a negative or stereotypical way. But China…on the other hand, just don’t know what is in their mind.
