82nd - Come and Get Your Love - Guardians of the Galaxy

84 Points - 1 FIRST PLACE, 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

What was I saying about Guardians songs about 3 reveals back?

So, we get to see our first top placed song on this countdown and it took nearly 20 songs to get there. Yeah, it may not have the moment of the previous entry, but it is just a really fun and cool opening scene that really did a great job of setting the tone for what the rest of Guardians was going to be. It's also just a really fun song and scene.

Too low. it was my 1#.. kind of for personal reasons. it might be the best opener ever for a film imo.

84th - The Gondola Song - Ikiru

83 Points - 1 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10 (Beats Father and Son on Tiebreaker)

I would make a silly comment, but... I don't know what context is happen here. It doesn't look like a samurai.

I will say that I was not expecting a black and white Japanese film to make the top 100, but all power to it. Diversity in choice is always a great thing and the more variety the more interesting everything gets.

Now this is good content!

81st - Another Day of Sun - La La Land

85 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

Is it only me that feels that this would just make being stuck in traffic worse?

Remember when movie musicals were all about this and Greatest Showman. What a year that was. This song is fine in my opinion, and if it had been in a better musical, that may have helped it more, but sadly it was in La La Land.

THEY ARE FLAT PEOPLE, THE SONGS IN THIS MOVIE IS ARE BAD! PLEASE SEE THE LIGHT.

Sorry for the delay, This week or so has been busy... So I am going to try and fly through a bunch... or at least like 3

80th - Uncle Fucker - South Park: Bigger, Looonger, and Unc....

85 Points - 1 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

I am not allowed to watch this video because Korea does not think I am 19, but I assume it is the song.

And that is more Parker and Stone. This is a thing that makes me happy. Especially as that now makes South Park the most represented film in the countdown. Huzzah,

79th - Under the Sea - The Little Mermaid

87 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

The only Disney musical number that is able to maintain some of its lines for the Porn Parody.

The Second best song in The Renaissance's 5th or 6th best film, and as such I welcome our new Jamaican Lobster overlords. Now I just need to wait and see whether the general audience also adheres to the grand truth that there is a better Little Mermaid song out there.

78th - Everything is Awesome - The Lego Movie

87 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

Will this be the only Lonely Island entry on this countdown? Who knows?

Along with Inside Out, this was the film that was biggest to blame when it came to a brief period of thinking that there was a chance for the Emoji Movie to not be terrible (this is pre-trailers I must add). Inside Out showed that there were concepts that that film could use to make something better than terrible, and Lego Movie taught us not to assume the worst of apparent shameless brand cash ins.

Lego Movie was awesome, my optimistic, let's just wait and see because you never know, the Lego Movie was great, attitude that i had for a few years after... led to much pain.

77th - Make 'Em Laugh - Singing in the Rain

89 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 1 top 10

This film is now 70 years old!

I feel like this song has been recreated by Shady Simpsons characters over and over again. It is true classic musical fayre and as such is the opposite of what I ever want to watch. :) Singing in the Rain is a classic Hollywood musical that seems to survive the test of time on these lists while others fall into oblivion.

76th - Purple Rain - Purple Rain

89 Points - 1 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

If the world was pure, then Chocolate Rain would next.

Prince was not bad at the old music stuff was he? I can't really say a lot about this because although i have heard the film many times, the film... it's about volcanoes? Aliens? What causes rain to turn purple?

75th - Springtime for Hitler - The Producers

89 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

A lovely wholesome number.

I probably should watch this at some point. It does feel like it is a "They couldn't make this these days" type film. This is also the second Mel Brooks film to feature on the list and that may make him among a small number of directors to get into the top 100 with multiple films.

74th - People Get Up and Drive Funky Soul - Spiderman 3

90 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

Well time for a true classic now!

I suppose this is an iconic example of using a song for a film scene. One may argue that it is memorable for all of the wrong reasons, but also.. it is kind of funny and that was probably the original intention. Either way, at least it wasn't Nickelback eh?

73rd - I See the Light - Tangled

91 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 1 top 10

The film that will likely be the Great Mouse Detective of the 21st Century.

Even though, this may be the number 3 song from Tangled for me, I am happy to see that Tangled is getting some love as it is a pretty underrated animated film and deserves the accolade. It is also a lovely scene that is more than adequately sung.

72nd - Johnny B. Goode - Back to the Future

91 Points - 0 Top 5 Vote, 0 top 10

The perfect hype song for celebrating persuade your mother to sleep with your dad instead of you.

I think growing up I thought that Michael J Fox sang this song. Back to the Future has a pretty cool soundtrack all the way through truth be told and there were a number of decent candidates for this list from the series.

71st - Chaiyya Chaiyya - Dil Se

92 Points - 1 Top 5 Vote, 1 top 10

Indian trains look like fun.

One of, if not THE biggest spectacle musical number in Bollywood, this was a epic start to a film that perhaps did not quite live up to the hype generated by this opening song. It's good to listen, the choreography is darn amazing and it's just plain good.

Make ‘Em Laugh and Purple Rain are great. No comment on the other two.

Purple Rain is WAY too low.  I had it at #3.  (#1 Singin' In the Rain, #2 The Man That Got Away)
