So there was a surprise screening of MaXXXine at  the double X/Pearl event (Pearl didn't happen), all reactions are positive with some mixed ones, stating that they liked two previous films more

What if I had never seen the previous films and went to this screening to watch them before the third one, then what?

Then you are still fine cuz Maxxxine is continuation of X and they showed that movie before screening M.

But  I get that some fans were a bit bummed

As big fan of X and Pearl this was my least favourite of the three. PM me if you have questions.

The rankings are somewhat irrelevant imo since the movies seems very different.

Is it good?

It's ok. Pearl was a character study. this is more plot driven. It stumbles when it comes to plot, twists and police investigations. the 80s video nasty era isn't that fresh either. I'm sure people will be screaming how amazing it is on twitter but I felt the runtime on this one.

Hated the last two but I’m so excited for this. Love how unapologetically camp the whole thing looks, and I feel like I could watch gorgeous women in fashion from the 80’s for hours so maybe this is just catnip for me haha

That is….interesting.

It must be nice to be excited for a threequel to two films you hated.
