A Haunting in Venice | September 15, 2023 | Branagh's moustache is back at it again!

This looks great.

Looks as if Branagh wants to make a different kind of horror movie...one that depends more on atmosphere for it's terror then gore and shock cuts. Probably go over the head of a great many modern Horror fans.

I think Branagh is going for what has been written about Shirely Jackson..author of "The Haunting" and some other great horror stoires: She could scare the hell out of you without ever raising her voice.

I think it is time for Branagh to "Dance with the old gentalman" as the stage saying goes, and do antoher Shakespearean adaptatin.

I would go for Richard The Third, because it is a favorite of mine, and it would complete a trilogy. Laurence Olivier made "Henry the Vifth" "Hamlet" and "Richard The Third" into movies, I sort of think Branagh, having done the first two, should complete the third.

Fuck it, I'm in. I enjoyed Murder on the Orient Express quite a bit and while I didn't love Death on the Nile I love that he keeps getting to make these fun little murder mysteries. This one in particular looks really unique, with it's Gothic atmosphere and horror vibes, so I feel like this could be the best of the three if it sticks the landing.

I'm excited for this. I really liked the last two honestly and I was genuinely shocked when I saw the trailer in front of Indy a month ago. I thought for sure the series was dead after the Nile flopped and had heard nothing of this movie. Especially shocked considering the last one literally JUST came out
