Last weekend’s saw 65% of its $45.8M take coming from premium formats.

avatar might not survive antman, really hope they find a way to share premium screens with it (or atleast get most of them back after a week), theres still a month between antman and the next premium format release

We need to build more premium screens before A3 (globally of course)

my country will get its first imax screen in the first half of 2023

avatar 2 was the reason they wanted to open one but it took them too long

would welcome a special edition a few months from now

Well if A2 is still making relevant money by then maybe it can get some screens back at some point, but yeah it will probably be in for a nasty hit that weekend.

PLF's are the future of cinema in the sense that they offer an elevated experience that cant be replicated even with really great home theaters settings. They will always be a special way to watch movies, so even if the number of theaters will greatly shrink in the future (which im afraid is probably only 2 decades or so away from us), they will probably endure for a long time.

4th week should be right around $60m, $18m above NWH, $3M above Black Panther, $9M behind Maverick, and $10M behind Avatar. It needs to keep increasing over Black Panther to reach $700M, I think that’s it’s best comp for now on.

Don’t forget the Titanic rerelease is going to take at least some of the plf screens. The IMAX twitter confirmed on 11/18 that it is getting an IMAX release.
