We have learned that Clint Eastwood is beginning to close in on directing what is being internally billed as the final film of his career, after decades of starring in classic pictures and directing over 35 of his own.

As for the plot of Clint Eastwood’s final film, sources say he is working on a thriller that is currently titled “Juror #2.” The story is said to follow a juror on a murder trial who realizes that he may have caused the victim’s death and must grapple with the dilemma of whether to manipulate the jury to save himself, or reveal the truth and turn himself in.

While sources say Eastwood is definitely looking to write and direct, what cannot be certain is Eastwood sticking to the idea of this being his final film. Even though this is how the project is being internally billed, there’s still a small chance that Eastwood decides to tackle another feature after Juror #2. Ultimately, though, with the four-time Oscar winner approaching the age of 93, we’re being told that Eastwood’s current plan is to retire completely after the creation of this film.

No start date has been locked in for Clint Eastwood’s final film. Casting has yet to begin as well, however, one source has hinted that Eastwood is eyeing a young Hollywood star for the lead role. This young star also happens to be starring as the lead in a big film releasing within the next few months per our knowledge. That being said, no further talks with talent have begun.

I can think three more names: Nicolas Hoult, Will Pouter and Lakieth Stanfield are all in there early 30s and have major roles in films coming in the next 6 months.

Something very funny to me about him making Cry Macho, a self reflective, farewell movie, a final statement on the themes of his career...on paper a perfect final film. And then comes back with "wait guys I got a really fun idea for a 90s style thriller!". Can't wait to see this in a few months.

He's not early 30s but since Adam Driver has been collecting all the old auteurs before they're gone let him do this too.

Adam Driver had a small role in J Edgar early in his career. But I'd love to see him have a proper leading role!

a real shame if clint's ending his career with a vehicle for one of the most boring actors in hollywood.

Giant Freakin' Robot is also claiming that Toni Collette is the other lead in the movie. Is Hugh Grant the last of the About a Boy big names that Hoult hasn't reunited with on celluloid as a grown up?

I almost would’ve thought WB would’ve moved away from Clint Eastwood after Zaslav’s whole “show business” lecture from last year.

Zaslav said all that before the WB movies released under his watch also underperformed/flopped, while having far less ROI than the typical Clint Eastwood movie...

WB has a much healthier slate for 2023, either this thriller gets released in October/November or they hold it until 2024.
