Getting "dump" vibes tbh. Incredibly short notice addition to the schedule + a packed date for prestige fare both in limited and wide release (Here, Conclave, A Real Pain).

Maybe, maybe not. My first thought was that this move is a response to Joker 2's mid Venice reception and poor presales (though there was news of a November 1 release prior to those developments). A formerly robust awards slate for WB this year (Dune 2, Furiosa, Folie a Deux) has become much more meager, and what if Juror No. 2 actually is a well executed, populist legal thriller? Might as well throw Clint Eastwood's "final movie" into the Oscars mix and see what happens. When WB wants to dump a Clint movie they release it in February (The 15:17 to Paris). An AFI Fest debut doesn't scream "Oscar Winner" but Best Picture nominees have premiered there before.

If I remember right, WB has announced the release of some praised Eastwood movies very late, and still they managed to have strong runs, BO & awards wise.

I liked the trailer!

This looks really good. Best case scenario though awards wise is probably the Richard Jewell route.

I hope it is good. This is the Last Hurrah for an American Icon, somebody I grew up with.
