Is that good or bad?

well i recently started tracking the 5 busiest AMC's of the 10 total i was previously tracking so i don't have comps but the marvels at (d-29) had sold 450 tickets at 10 locations and even if i split that number in half to 225, aquaman still is running ~48% or a $3.2m previews and likely even worse since the 5 theatres i no longer track either only had standard showings or very few showings

Tbh I would not be surprised by something like $3.0M previews, $15-18M weekend for Aquaman given the standard 5-6 IM. Not a single live action CBM this year has significantly outperformed initial tracking.

Ant-Man went from $130M+ to $106M (tanked by bad reception)

Shazam went from $35-40M to $30M (bad reception)

Guardians went from $100-120M to $118M (needed GREAT reception to just meet the range, it would've gone <$100M if it was bad)

Flash went from $75M+ to $55M (bad reception)

Blue Beetle went from $20M-ish to $25M (ok so this did overperform but it was a new D-list character not a big sequel so there was less of a rush)

Marvels went from $60-70M to $46M (bad reception)

Definitely better than it was but...that's not saying much. Still not much action going on over here.

Doing the best of the three movies I'm tracking but that isn't saying much, still slow around here.

Wish (T-1):

No final numbers tomorrow, so if we take ATP into account (which I don't like doing much, adjusting comps that is, but I have no usable Tuesday comp sadly), let's go with a final prediciton of $1.75 Million, +/- 0.25. Reviews really hit this hard I think

The polar opposite on Wish, at least in this market. Outstanding final week and day. MI7 summer walk-ups are obviously different than this will have tomorrow, and the others should be adjusted for ATP, but I can't help but feel optimistic looking at those growth rates, especially compared to something like Killers. Let's go with $2 Million, +/- 0.2.

Very happy with my Wish call, like @Porthos articulated better than I ever could, it was a tricky one with the ATP, the EA influencing pace, poor comps, etc.

Totally whiffed on Napoleon, but let this be a lesson for me on trusting pace and growth rates more; I was betting on walk-ups being bad due to genre rather than trusting the awesome final growth rates. In addition to all that, still underperformed here a bit. Oh well, this is a happy mistake, I'm glad it's doing well!

Can't we just celebrate something for five seconds

I don't think Napoleon having a $30M 5 day OW is anything to celebrate about. That's right about where tracking had it. @CJohn is right, theaters are dying and adult dramas having mid-tier level openings is not the answer.

It's not going to be 2.72m, so that's a rather academic question.

Well, The Marvels taught me to never say never to a low preview.

Not that I really think Aquaman 2 would be so low.
