I'm gonna track this one later tonight, but more than 2,700 seats sold already?

Warner Bros. could really have another early September breakout in the veins of 2017's It.

So if it has trash walkups then it’ll still open to a great $75-80M+ depending on EA

And if it has huge explosive walkups then ohhhhhh mai gawd (14 THU + 4 EA x Equalizer 3 IM161.3!!!)

I dont know I want to go that far. Whatever I can see, the sales are solid albeit not spectacular. After all its not a huge fanbase driven movie. So I would wait until we see a trend of huge breakout. Maverick couple of years ago looked like a huge breakout on day 1. This is not close but its not a fair comp for sure.

Maybe over indexing near me then

Still looking strong. Would bet this ends up frontloaded so I'm not sure it hits $50M OW

I've been informed by a close source of mine that the Interstellar IMAX re-release that was planned for this fall has likely been cancelled outside of a very select group of venues. There's some drama going on behind-the-scenes over this that I won't divulge the details of. Let's just say that someone in particular is really upset and leave it at that.

Anyway, tentative ticket sale date for Transformers One is August 27.

Also, AMC will be bringing back The Batman to their Dolby screens on August 28. This will include a sneak peek of The Penguin.

Killing it, with an ATP adjustment probably looking at around $5ish Million combined for now

Combined THU + EA Comp:

Still holding back on most EA comps because the occupancy rate for this is so high, so capacity will be a real issue. Unsung Hero kinda meets that criteria too, so probably thinking a little over $1 Million for EA unless theaters add a ton of showtimes.

Are the select group of venues just ones that have IMAX 70mm capabilities?

No, even the majority of those won't be playing it. The only locations that will play it are ones that had already been holding onto a 70mm print over these years.

I don't know how much more I should say. The 70mm prints are part of the problem, in fact. Let's just say that I've heard some higher-ups made a big oopsie that's made a very influential person angry.
