Yeah taking everything into account I would probably say Reloaded corresponds to >300M OW nowadays. Now does that guarantee DPW can do 2/3 of that? Not whatsoever. But I think people are a bit overly concerned with the R “ceiling” — the real r ceiling is like 350M or something, it’s not remotely in play here

Deadpool and Wolverine presales is not on the level of Infinity War and No Way Home.

Specifically, I was asking about the Opening Day Fan Event (i.e. for $$$) that is being hosted exclusively for MTC1 on Thur Jul 25th:

https://www.fandango.com/deadpool-and-wolverine-opening-day-fan-event-2024-236329/movie-overview?date=2024-07-25

Disney will use an Opening Night/Day Fan Event for branding purposes for when they want to have a giveaway for extra goodies or a showing an hour or so earlier or something else usually along side a hike in ATP.

This is not a "free" event or fan showing a couple of days earlier to drive awareness/buzz or anything like that.  Disney is 100% going to fold those into the reported totals

If you never track these, fair enough.  But wanted to make sure you knew what I was referring to.

@TheFlatLannister

Weird, either it's sold out or those showings are not live yet because they aren't on the main fandango page. I do see two showings once I click on the link, but both are greyed out.

Probably sold out, those shows sold like gangbusters right away. 3 in the twin cities and all over 85% sold

My nearest one (in Brentwood - welllll out of my tracking range) is at 84% sold as well.  Wouldn't be hard to imagine them being For Real Sold Out in Orlando.

Probably 280 seats per a loc here. Don't think those showings are wide enough to really move the needle much past an extra $1m or so. I don't have national data so maybe Keyser or Jat know.

Also I never got the sense ID4 had much hype at all given its reception

huh. The buzz was insane.

It opened on a Tuesday night. Despite this, it's Fri-Sun gross nearly topped the opening weekend record at the time. As a traditional 3 day opening, that's a record that probably lasts until Harry Potter in 2001.

I went that opening Tuesday Night. It still may be one of my best theatrical experiences. The audience was hyped and ready to go from moment one. It was electric.

Yeah, not even on the level of DS2. It’s going to play well below the limits of the R rating so not much need to worry what those are
