Very good. I'm not too happy with the domestic weekend. It was running well ahead of TDKR in dailies and then dropped well below TDKR this weekend. That's a bummer, but at least it already cruised beyond $300M. It has also gone past Dunkirk's 3.72 multiplier (a nice milestone), but I don't think Oppy will make it to a 4.00 multi ($330M).

Gotta keep in mind that Equalizer 3 being released ate into it while Labor Day is usually empty. Plus it’ll get an expansion at some point to claw back a couple million

Yeah. Zero chance this doesn’t take advantage of some slow weekends for an IMAX second run. With Dune moving they could probably do a week or two at Christmas then another for awards season in February

Just realised Oppy and Barbie have exactly the same multiplier (3.76x), I think Oppy had been trailing before so it looks like it will finally outleg it from here on out unless it suddenly drops a lot of screens.

They are still very close, but this isn't quite true. I think where your mixup is coming from is that Oppenheimer has a studio reported Monday estimate, whereas Barbie does not. Their totals into Sunday give the following multipliers:

Barbie: 3.76

Oppenheimer: 3.74

This doesn't preclude Oppy having stronger legs moving forward - but up until now, their legs have been remarkably in sync with each other through their runs.

I'd love to see them both hit a 4x multiplier to cap off their incredible duo of a run, but I'm still uncertain if either will achieve this... let's see!

Peace,

Mike

That is a bollywood movie. I think it will only have imax for few days. I dont see demand for bollywood movie in Atlanta beyond 1 weekend. Hopefully Oppenheimer gets the screen back after that. Also Barbie should get it for one week later this month.

Yeah Jawan will possibly run for just a weekend in IMAX in Us, barring a few which may run for a week. Another Indian film had almost all the IMAX for Sep 28, but that has freed up now

Damn, by the end of Barbenheimer box office runs, the top 8 (or top 7?) could be comprised of 4 movies (Top Gun, Ava2r, Barbie, Oppy) within the last 16 months.
