Yeah, they are all around the same. You got to give the edge to The Avengers because it had just as many people but a lot of them paid an extra premium, showing that demand for it was through the roof.

You won't even need a tiebreaker when we get the actuals. Once it hits close to $210m, there is no doubt it's the new attendance record. I do not believe a 30% surcharge on some tickets would have kept anyone from seeing TDK or SM3 on their weekends though. People will pay whatever it takes to see these huge movies on opening weekend.

Premium screens similar to LieMAX. Higher price, bigger screen, better sound but not real IMAX size or experience.

XD, D-Box, etc.To be honest, the average prices for "Other" and "IMAX 3D" seem low to me. The D-Box near my home charges $22.50, and the XD charge $17.50, as do all IMAX 3D shows. The IMAX price is given by IMAX themselves, so I'll go with it, but the other one, I'm considering reevaluating. Edited May 7, 2012 by spizzer

According to BOM, SM3's estimate is 21,964,000. So if that happens TA would at least be the most attended Summer kick off film.

Rth gave an estimate of 56-61M for Sunday. The OW will be 205-210M.

Talk about how screwed TDKR is all you want, but I feel like the real loser is going to be TASM.

It will still be in the top 5 domestic and worldwide.You don't have to make 500 m domestic to be considered a success.

That would mean average price for this was ~$17.18. However, I don't know the D-Box share, so I cannot make any assumptions. Average price for XD is around the same as IMAX 3D, so I'd have to assume the overall average is just a tad bit above that. In this case, it's a 3% bump
