JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

Sunday afternoon number -1.6% from last Sunday and +1% from its first Sunday!

And just when you're all excited by Frozen's saturday number, Corpse arrives and cools you down:

Well, he's underestimated Frozen's weekend numbers a couple of times in the past, including this weekend. If that Sunday Toho number holds for the whole day, instead of $6.8m, it's gonna be more like $7.6m+.

Well, Avatar kept well after holiday because it didn't do THAT well ON holiday, I don't think it reasonable enough to adjust expectation of Frozen.

People. It ain't dropping. Competition, screens, seats, post spring break this usually happens or that, it can't blah blah....I hear the same thing every week and it doesnt drop. get a clue. It is doing exactly what jaws did. Just holding flat (6-7m)w no drop in site on the road to 260m. Competion: it had to weigh against doraemon and other SB releases. If the audience is big enough to have one movie make over10-15m, then two can make 7. And 6Seats; it had less seats before SB.7.5m. Lost some seats at start of sb, 8.5m. Gained seats, 8.7m. My point is 10- 20% can be taken away or added and keeps doing 8 fucking million .Screens. It will hold them. 5 movies can have over 400.The cinemas and audience are capable of 35m weekends. Spidey 7m, Frozen 7m, 6m female local. Conan 4 wk2. Is within that bound..If it didn't take a hit post sb when movie going mind set decreases why would it drop w a little competion pre GW. TS3 had shitload of competion for 7weeks and held screens and revenue well.20% weekend drops = 10 weekend multiplier including the current weekend Anyone see a 20% drop yet? Thats 80m including this weekend going forward. 163m15% drops is 15x. that isnt even happening yet. 200m and you can add 15m for GW.10%? Well. Now were talking 250m.yeah I know, CRAZY. But so is 4 weekends above 7.5OW. You have to stop applying the regular rules to a phenom.projection raised to 215m.

just going by the numbers. 15x from this weekend looks beyond attainable/reasonable. Corpse said only 1 movie opening above 5m increased the following weekend outside of summer or holiday. Any movie in the top 5 above OW at 5th weekend? I understand some of them had larger openings but still...200m locked - reiteration. 250m possible- needs to drop 10% average. Only dropped 6% admission ave since SB peak two weeks ago.Thats SB people!300m anything can fucking happen- 7.5% average drop. Thats happening so far. If it holds 7.5 the next 2 weeks. Spirited away will be upgraded to possible. Mite even lock the ghosts down.

Nice! I thought I was being optimistic when I said it its 5th weekend could be bigger than its OW. And I just realized, the lowest Sunday Toho number for Frozen is actually its first Sunday!

Never realized this before you said it :P OW gross seems to be the lowest too wtf

If it manages good holds until golden week then I'm subscribing to club mfantin :D
