JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

I knew they underestimated it. My expectation for the weekend was higher than most people here, but still too low! edroger's extrapolation based on Toho numbers was really close.

you can't put a "reasonable" finite ceiling on this action. Just minimums. Right now 15multiplier equaling 15% drops, not yet occured, is reasonable. 215m7.5% drops, average is below that since sb peak = 25x = 290m

Except those who have no idea about numbers at all, you are one of the most optimistic movie fans I‘ve ever seen.

Frozen passed MU. And it also passed The Eternal Zero to be the highest grossing movie in Japanese box office calendar year of 2014.

9.284b yen total also means it will likely match AIW's record for the 7th fastest to reach 10b yen.

not optimism, just trend analysis. Noah, great opening, bad WoM, shit second weekend, should f s ll short of 100m w 55% drpp but vould get an Easter boost to barely make it to 100m. Optimistic? Or is that the trend?

Frozen run has been incredible so far.

But it will slow down, movies targets the same audiences will open from this week.

Nearly 20 movies open this weekend, some of them may not gross much, but they'll take some screens.

Love the actuals :D

I'm slightly anxious about next weekend, though. Would be satisfied with anything above 7M.

I can't believe a 160M finish would disappoint me now o.O

I can't believe that after 21 week of release Frozen still continues to surprise us and is still totally unpredictable.

They're gonna sing? I thought only appearances on a traveling/food tasting segment of a variety show or something like that.

Anyway, I really cannot wait for this coming weekend and the following weekend. I was worried, but now I'm excited. Frozen will lose screens and seats and it will definitely drop, but I think not as big as I initially thought. I'm happy with whatever number Frozen makes in the end (which will definitely be more than $130M). Of course the bigger the better, but at this point, nothing will disappoint me. But that's just me. :)
