JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

If Frozen passes IM3, I'll be dancing through the night. :P

With a small re-release, Frozen will easily outdo IM3. (See what Nemo/TLK did in releases.) With another 100m+ to be added from Japan, Frozen should be abble to cross 1.2B, which will be inches away from IM3.

And Disney has tradition to re-releases their cartoons. So it will happen, just a matter of time.

Japan $89,000,000 4/13/14

I think the gross should be over 90m

Yeah, they're underestimating it again.

ETA: I forgot, congrats Japan for officially being the biggest OS market for Frozen!

Underestimation is better than overestimation. At least it brings more satisfaction when the real number comes up. But I'm sure mfantin65 will disagree with me.

>Crows: Explode manages to do slightly better than it was expected to after Saturday morning's ticket sales. It is still down over 50% compared to Crows Zero II, so it is still (an expected) disappointment after the 5-year wait. ¥1.5 billion (~$15 million) is its target.

Should we even call that a drop for FROZEN? lol

For Frozen, we probably should. It is the biggest weekend drop so far. Can't believe I just said that. 6% is the worst drop lol. But seriously, you look at the drops for other movies, and then there's Frozen, living in its own world, by its own rules.

Amazing, Frozen almost grossed more than the rest of the top 10 combined this weekend. 798m vs. 804m.

Frozen is an unstoppable wintry force of musical wonder! If it beats IM3 I am going to be over the moon and will have to salute mfantin's and Boxx93's bold predictions although I shall refrain from from eating my hat and changing my Avatar because unlike Omni I held my "reasonable" predictions pretty close to the vest  ;)

"Monsters University is the target."

lololol

With actuals Frozen might be passed MU in Japan already. 90m estimate vs. 90.14m for MU. Frozen will pass MU tomorrow if it hasn't already done so. :D

I guess the next "reasonable" target was TS3, a mere 36.66m to go.

After TS3 gets passed, none of the higher targets were considered reasonable before Frozen opened, but many will be passed. Posted Image
