Best Visual Effects-2012

Hush now, your wrong.

Oh, don't be insufferable

Tree of Life?

Those visuals are truly groundbreaking, they had Douglas Trumbull doing effects. They aren't traditional CGI or MoCap effects, but the high speed photography, and actually physically manipulating things and shooting it is simply nothing short of groundbreaking.

I don't know all the technicalities, the way you seem to do, but there was nothing really remarkable about the visual effects in Tree of Life IMO. Any high profile science/nature BBC show has similar visuals. And Jurassic Park from '93 had prettier dinosaurs. :)

The technique and work put into it is miles and miles better than anything else last year.

Do some reading into it. The experimentation they did was astonishing.

Well, I don't doubt that. Its just that I think they put in a lot of time and effort in creating the spectacular carnage in TF3 as well. But oh well, I might be wrong. Like I said before, you seem more knowledgeable about this stuff than I. ;)

I think these will be the final five:TDKR The HobbitLife of PiThe AvengersPrometheus-I think the TDKR will beat out Skyfall -SWATH, John Carter, TASM are DOA-Although I liked Cloud Atlas, the effects were not as seamless as some of the other filmsI think the race is between The Hobbit and Life of Pi.

Thats my list to, but I wouldn't be surprised if Skyfall or Cloud Atlas beat out TDKR. Edited by Shpongle
