It's Déjà vu all over again at the Father's Day box office, as "Madagascar 3" and "Prometheus" should retain the No. 1 and No. 2 spots domestically, but for stars Tom Cruise and Adam Sandler -- typically big B.O. draws -- the numbers are anything but familiar.

According to early Friday estimates, Warner Bros.' "Rock of Ages" is tracking in the high-teens to low-twenties for the weekend while Sandler's R-rated "That's My Boy" is in fourth place with $13 million-$16 million domestically.

Meanwhile, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" continues to reign in the U.S. with Paramount and DreamWorks Animation's 3D toon suiting up for a $10 million Friday and $36 million-plus for the weekend.

Fox's "Prometheus" is off 50-55% in its sophomore frame, with Ridley Scott's 3D sci-fier at an estimated $20 million-$25 million through Sunday.

BOX OFFICE: Sandler's 'That's My Boy' "bombing" with $10-12M weekend, per Friday estimates.

Madagascar 3, from DreamWorks Animation and Paramount, could gross as much as $33 million to $36 million for the weekend following a $10 million to $11 million Friday, far and away the best showing of any film.

Ridley Scott's Prometheus, also entering its second frame, could post a weekend gross in the $21 million to $23 million range for 20th Century Fox.

Adam Shankman'sfilm adaptation of Broadway musical Rock of Ages -- featuring an all-star cast including Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand -- is expected to gross in the $7 million range on Friday for a weekend opening of $18 million to $21 million, according to early numbers.

Adam Sandler'sR-rated summer comedy That's My Boy, also starring Andy Samberg, is likely to land at No. 4 with a weekend opening in the $14 million to $17 million range if it continues on the same pace. That's lower than many of Sandler's summer movies, although the majority of his films have been broad comedies.

Sorry, someone else can open this when more reliable numbers come in, but this is the same guy last week that said prometheus was heading to a 27 mill Friday. I'm going out now, if another mod wants to open this when Nikki gets here, then great, but right now, this is nothing. This guy is not credible.

Not surprising. No matter how many adults and young adults grew up on Sandler's earlier movies, the audience for his films ALWAYS skews younger. Which means Sandler and an R-rating do not mix. Those old enough to see it are sick of his schtick.

I knew people were over predicting. That film looked awful. (I also think Ted looks bad, I find it more immature then mature but whatever, still Magic Mike looks the worse out of all of them)
