Reverse it from what though. SM4 would have declined from SM3, but TASM declined from SM3. So there was still a decline. At the moment, I'm not sure why there is a belief that TASM2 will do that much better than TASM or what SM5 would have done.

Look at how much ASM2 will likely make total (300-325 m) and then look at how much POTC5 would likely make (210-220 m).There's a reason there was no Shrek 5 and Disney isn't in a rush to go forward with POTC5.

Again, I think the 20% increase metric is still up in the air. General audiences do experience fatigue from any franchise. TASM2 will have to take a very unique approach to stop Spider-Man's domestic decline. It isn't just built in.
