Ted is headed over $180,000,000 isn't it? Wow!Magic Mike will make $100m too, I think.

Magic Mike is just about a lock for $100m.Ted could actually hit $200m. Savages is taking pretty much zero R-rated business from it, and Spidey doesn't seem to be slowing it down in the least.

^^^ TASM will make more than 260 .I think it will do 280+ based on the competition. TDKR is a major competition but it is its only competition until August 10 and TASM should be around 225 by the time TDKR is released.

Whatever actually happened to iJack?

He's allowed to post, but just not in Spiderman threads. And he's mad at me. I still haven't figured out why yet.I think the real reason is his ego is shattered.

It will make more than 800m ww and some of you still think its a failure.

shshhh...... logic is not allowed.

I don't think anyone, even me, are saying anything about it being a failure overall. Just that the domestic numbers will come in softer than some had hoped.

FRIDAY PM/SATURDAY AM, 8TH UPDATE: This big $210M moviegoing weekend is bringing out crowds post Fourth Of July and looking +35% from last year. Unfortunately the new major studio films are soft. Oliver Stone’s adult crime Posted Imagedrama Savages is looking like $5.2M for Friday with the weekend estimate around $15M. As you know, Universal made the decision to move this R-rated actioner from the safe harbor of a September 28th release (where The Town, a similar R-rated crime film, performed so well in 2010) to this very crowded summer slot. Dumb move, especially since those better-than-average trailers made this look like a perfect fall movie. As a result, Savages could only release on 2,627 screens. On the other hand, audiences gave Savages only a ‘C+’ CinemaScore, which will result in poor word-of-mouth. Good thing it was made for only $45M. Also struggling is the $12M low budget Katy Perry’s Part Of Me which will do around $3M Friday and just $11.8M for its first 4 days in release. “I guess it will take 5 days to gross its budget,” a Paramount exec joked about the Insurge pic. Earth to Hollywood: no one cares about Katy beyond a handful of tween/teen girls. Not even Russell Brand anymore. Now for the better news: Sony/Columbia’s The Amazing Spider-Man is looking like $21M Friday for a weekend around $65M. That should give the 3D reboot a 6-day total of $140M through Sunday. Nice haul, but only middling when it comes to top moneymakers for that time period. Especially considering Spidey is Marvel’s most popular character. “In the world of reboots it’s pretty spectacular,” a Sony exec reminds. (Batman Begins came back with a $48.7M opening weekend, while X-Men First Class debuted to $55.1M.) Little wonder that Sony is fast-tracking the next installment of its new trilogy with fresh villains and storylines that should spark more interest in this too-soon reboot that was just a retread of the original origins saga. Meanwhile, Universal’s holdover Ted is still strong domestically with a $35M weekend. But the foul-mouthed teddy bear will be the #1 film in Australia this weekend after opening against the web-spinner. On Thursday Seth MacFarlane’s 2D film made $2M and on Friday $2.1M down under for a two-day total of $4M vs The Amazing Spider-Man‘s two-day total of $2.6M. Ouch! Meanwhile, Woody Allen’s critically panned To Rome With Love from Sony Classics crept into the Top Ten based on Friday’s estimates. Refined numbers later along with analysis of the 10-day holiday box office:

1. The Amazing Spider-Man (Columbia/Sony) Week 1 [4,318 Theaters] PG13

Friday $21M, Weekend $65M, Cume $140M

Meh for Brave.

I haven't really been following Brave, but that seems like a really weak Friday bump for it. Is 200 locked?
