grey ghost
700 mil hopefully huge increase not quite IM3 but very few are lol.If Thor 1 was in 2D like IM2 then Thor 2 might've had an IM3-like increase.

iceroll
If Thor 1 was in 2D like IM2 then Thor 2 might've had an IM3-like increase. All it would have done was made Thor 1's gross lower, Thor 2 would still be doing the same. So instead of 268m -> 400m OS it would have been like 200m -> 400m OS.

Well, I guess he means that if Thor 2 seems headed to 450, and if we suppose that Thor 1 would have grossed 200 OS without 3D, Thor 2 would be increasing a 125% after Avengers, more similar to 159% increase of Iron Man 3 OS gross. That means that Avengers effect continues...

That also helps the gross of Iron Man movies.
rashad30
^ Which is why this film will truly be the test of the so-called "Avengers effect".

Maybe for that reason the difference in equal conditions is 159 against 125% increase OS, and for that reason one movie grosses nearly double than the other. I just wanted to point that Avengers effect is, more or less, quite big for both movies.

zackzack
Judging by the incoming numbers, $650M WW is locked, assuming DOM doesn't suck. Edited November 7, 2013 by zackzack
druv10
http://www.thewrap.com/thor-dark-world-ready-roar-thunderous-80m-box-office/ Great news. We're looking at around 240-250M after next weekend OS and if it gets any kind of legs 500M OS looks possible. Another win for Marvel.
