All it would have done was made Thor 1's gross lower, Thor 2 would still be doing the same. 

 

So instead of 268m -> 400m OS it would have been like 200m -> 400m OS.

Well, I guess he means that if Thor 2 seems headed to 450, and if we suppose that Thor 1 would have grossed 200 OS without 3D, Thor 2 would be increasing a 125% after Avengers, more similar to 159% increase of Iron Man 3 OS gross. That means that Avengers effect continues...

Even with the Avengers, the popularity of Robert Downy Jr overseas, especially in Asia, cannot be currently matched by any other actor in the MCU. That also helps the gross of Iron Man movies.

I do not deny it. That is absolutely true. Maybe for that reason the difference in equal conditions is 159 against 125% increase OS, and for that reason one movie grosses nearly double than the other. I just wanted to point that Avengers effect is, more or less, quite big for both movies.
