I loved the first one and I think I was expecting a bit too much in this one. So yes, I was disappointed in it. Still enough to give it a 7, but I gave the first one a 9.

Well that's how I feel about Bourne Legacy. I had my expectations set way too high until I saw reviews and I was still disappointed.

Well August has been a month of disappointments for whatever reasons. Total Recall, Bourne Legacy, Expendables.

Box office wise I don't think Bourne was a disappointment. Maybe I didn't have high hopes for it, but imo it landed right where i thought it should have.

Comingsoon.net weekend predictions:

1. The Expendables 2 (Lionsgate) - $13.7 million -52%

2. ParaNorman (Focus Features) - $9 million -36%

3. The Bourne Legacy (Universal) - $8.9 million -48%

4. The Campaign (Warner Bros.) - $7.6 million -42%

5. Premium Rush (Sony) - $7.2 million N/A

6. Hit and Run (Open Road Entertainment) - $7.0 million N/A

7. The Odd Life of Timothy Green (Disney) - $6.8 million -37%

8. The Dark Knight Rises (Warner Bros.) - $6.4 million -42%

9. Sparkle (Sony/TriStar Pictures) - $6.4 million -45%

10. Hope Springs (Sony) - $5.9 million -35%

-- The Apparition (Warner Bros.) - $3 million N/A

I also think TDKR will do 6.4M but there's always hope for 7M. I also see EXP 2 doing 14M.

The newbies I don't disagree with. But they're low-balling everything else. I'd say crank everything up by $1M. Expendables 2 should do $15-$16M based on the lack of competition and solid A- CinemaScore and Dark Knight Rises will do $7-$8M.

I'd do back flips if Expendables 2 did 15-16 mill this weekend.

Sure. But I think the studio at least would like to match its production budget. The last 3 films doubled it. Doesn't look like that will happen. Edited by ECSTASY

TBL is doing alright, don't think the studio will be disappointed with its numbers, considering it's headed by a new character and an actor that's just gaining general populace recognition. I read somewhere that they were looking to benchmark the movie with The Bourne Identity and not expecting Supremacy or Ultimatum numbers. I suppose that's because just like Identity was the first of the Jason Bourne movies, Legacy is (likely) the first of the Aaron Cross movies. Add to that the fact that reviews have been less than stellar and I think it's having a reasonable run all things considered.

I too think thr studio will be happy with Bournes #. Like star trek its launching a diferrent world and its heading ing north of 100 so thats decent enough.
