Friday estimates

ANT-MAN  33.5M/413M

GML 18.6M/1288M

Detective Conan 16.5m OD

既然青春留不住 9.9M/13.1M

THE LITTLE PRINCE 6.2M/103M

PAN 4.7M/9.3M

Good number for Ant Man. Sub 50% drop is possible and 100 mill seems very possible now

Projections from presales

AM mid 50m's. Up 75% from Fri.  -48-50% wow.

Conan 30m+

GML 28m -50%

TLP 14m -55%.  Poor little bastard lost 60% of its shows otherwise we mite have seen a great hold

Pan  9m

AM needs to continue to hold -50-52% for the next 10 days to break 635m. It will lose most screens and get squashed by competition two wed from now

Impressive numbers from Ant-man.

Conan is basically following The Little Prince's run with just slightly higher numbers. It's no Doraemon but it's doing pretty decent for a poorly reviewed movie which came out 6 months ago in Japan.

True. Very decent for Conan, almost $11m OW, considering Doraemon was much more family friendly.

Next week 10/30 :The Witness, A Chinese remake of "The Blind"

Miss Granny made Yuan 365M in Jan. Lu han is on the right way.

Enlight expects 300m from TW...

Anyway, next week, it should be a close race for #1 among A-M, Hotel 2 and TW.

$100m for AM has been locked since that opening Friday. It's now heading to $110m or so.

To put how good AM is performing in perspective:

China will more than 4x UK, its second biggest international market. China will also produce more than 20% of its worldwide gross, 20%, the highest China/Worldwide percentage for any superhero movie in history. CA2 was just under 17%, DOFP just above 16%, GOTG 11%. (As for the China/NA ratio: AM 61%, CA2 46%, DOFP 51%, GOTG 26%.)

China has undoubtedly become the fruitful backyard gardon of Marvel. Probably as soon as in two years, North America will no longer be its biggest box office market. Eventually, we will see China become the biggest market, and not just box office wise, of most of those uniformed superheroes, Marvel or DC.
