If you want to convert CNY/yuan quickly and you are ok with an estimate just take the CNY/ yuan figure and divide it by 7.

 

If you want closer, divide it by 6.7

Good method for mental arithmetic; add on half then divide by 10.

 

So 500 yuan = (500+250)/10 = 750/10 = 75 dollars.

Indeed I love stuff like that. I did mental math competitions in grade school as a kid. It was weird I loved sports but at the same was obsessed with math as a huge nerd.
