How low does that need to get for Disney to ask for a new date for avatar 2? or is that too risky?

Studio don't have rights to press their views regarding uncomfortableness of release date.

If they do then, you may (might) not see it until Early March 2023 or simply not getting a release date either...

So, let's just let things go as usual.. upcoming days are gonna be interesting as December is full of Imported Titles..

Rest is up to audience and ofc the rules and regulations

Lol, it's really cute that you think Disney's going to get a say.

Avatar will play on this date as long as there are theaters to play it, that is what it is. Moving to greener pastures is a privilege for local films.

you see,the revoultion is worked,we can’t open and let covid kill people like other countries(because we have big population and if we open fully we will have lot of old people dead),but we can express our feeling to government and we found the way to solve the problem with properly and tally to most pf people’s interest ,that’s good

Good news, apparently

As good as it sound, I am actually hoping the reopening can come at least 1 week later since the number of cases begin to drop. I am worry the huge spike in number of cases afterward will scare people off from cinema and hurt A2 again. People have to remember, to them, people in China still fear of Covid-19 like many in 2020, so the huge wave of infection will certainly inevitable bad for cinemagoing.

Now everything depends on if people are willing to go the cinemas. They've been starved of blockbusters for months now. And surprise, the next big blockbuster is their most anticipated western sequel ever. Personally think it's gonna play well. But I don't think anyone giving a prediction has got the slightest clue as to how it's gonna perform. Exciting times...

Bro you are not going to die of Covid if you open up. This is not 2020 that we didn't know anything about the virus. We almost have 3 years of experience now.

What's haplening in China it's not about the virus it's about control. Open your eyes and see what's happening in the rest of the world.

As for the box office seemingly good news that theaters will open up. If the Chinese people will have the urge to visit the cinemas to watch Avatar remains to be seen. I have my doubts but will see.

Unlike the rest of the world. China went with  plan to prioritize their ( honestly much weaker) vaccine to young people and now have a large percentage of their at risk population unprotected

You need to remember though, China's vaccines aren't as effective and the population density is insanely high. Besides it was never just about deaths but about crashing the entire healthcare system.

Either way, not the thread for this. Good news for Avatar, hopefully cases will stay somewhat contained and not go completely insane though.

Yeah. They should have allowed other vaccines. Their strategy was successful when COVID was at peak everywhere but zero COVID strategy isn't going to help anymore. It's very surprising that china's vaccine policy fell behind. India also has similar population like china but the situation is exact opposite and it has been opened very early.
