MrFanaticGuy34
Yeah....I think this film could actually do really good numbers right now. But Everest will not affect this one.
Mojoguy
Unless there are cities being destroyed in them, disaster movies aren't that big.
DAJK
I'm thinking low 30's for this and high 20's (maybe 30) for Everest.
CJohn
Everest will do 20-25M. I am hoping for high 20M OW for it tbh.
goldenstate5
The last big family film was Minions. Like IO, I think that factor will greatly help HT2. Predicting mid-to-high 30s here.
baumer
If the first was well liked (it had a 3.5X) and there hasn't been anything for kids in months, shouldn't this one just be hitting the marketplace at the perfect time? I don't see why this should open to less than 40 million.
AniNate
It should do ok. The trailers didn't make me want to claw my eyes out
baumer
It should do ok. The trailers didn't make me want to claw my eyes out But you're not a 5 year old. My niece loves the original and definitely wants to see this one.
CJohn
But you're not a 5 year old. My niece loves the original and definitely wants to see this one. But if it isn't Pixar IT IS BAD FOR KIDS GODDAMMIT. Don't you know this place?

CJohn
Yes of course......I forgot......this is poisoning kids minds. This movie, Alvin 4 and Peanuts are toxic for kids and makes them shit adults in the future. Only Pixar matters. Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur are the only things kids should see until the end of the year.
MrFanaticGuy34
Eh....I don't think so. Just because it's not Pixar related, doesn't always mean that it's automatically bad for the younger audience. We've seen that not all Pixar movies can always escape from criticism....Remember Cars 2, anybody? We can't always praise Pixar films over every other animated films.

Nope, clearly you don't understand that Mother Theresa runs Pixar and all of their profits help build schools in Cambodia.
AniNate
Good lord, I didn't even mention Pixar. I was actually praising this for having tolerable advertising

MrFanaticGuy34
And also...the first HT is Adam Sandler's highest grossing film, WW. And it only made $11M in China. This one will obviously increase in China.....Question is...how much? I dunno.
Ethan Hunt
It looks mediocre to me, then again so did the first one *shrug *
WrathOfHan
There hasn't been much hype for this so that's why I'm a little reluctant to say anything over 40M. It should do close to that though.
CJohn
I feel like the first had much more buzz around it but idk. I am just not the target audience. If I had to guess I would say it opens with around the same as Cloudy 2.
