Not great (feels like I just woke up from some bizarre dream) but visually it looked good and there were a few real scares and a sense of dread. ":Bait and Switch" advertising never works in the long run. IMHO they should have actually sold the film as a Gothic Thriller, targeting Gothic Thrillers prime women's audience,and hope that Del Toro's cred with the horror buffs would being a fair number of them along. But then Legnedary seems to have marketing prolbems with the female audience....they totally blew the angle of a strong female character in the marketing for "Pacific Rim". Hellboy 3 was never gonna happen and PR2 is in the far distance. How's it doing at your theatre? It's absolutely bombing over here: Pan (which is a big bomb as well) is doing better in its second week than this is doing right now. It's not doing great, it's doing as well as any other romance movie does, better actually.
