ecstasy
Holy Crap! Sally Hawkins was nominated? How did I miss that. Haven't even seen the movie. I just want her to win. Love this woman. That'll shake things up.

ladyevenstar22
ok i saw 12YAS last night and did not even recognize lupita she 's amazing in this , her performance is so raw , so much feels that it would be an upset for the ages if she doesnt win the oscar how can anyone watch her scenes then watch jennifer lawrence and think jennifer did a better job with her character i'm starting to believe any hype jennifer is getting is just to create tension and debate, coz when it comes down to it there's no comparison, one is an oscar worthy performance that moves you to tears and stays with you a while after the other is your usual run-of-the- mill turn in a normal movie which i won't lie i can hardly evoke what emotion i felt at the time !

narniadis
I thought Lawrence's part was better to be honest (not dissing Lupita by any stretch.) I am sure that a lot of it has to do with apparently Hustle resonating more than 12 years with the voting block.
narniadis
But IMO June Squibb is the best of the bunch (followed by Hawkins, Lawrence & Lupita - have seen August yet)
The Futurist
According to AD forums GG+Bafta > BFCA+SAG most of the times. But Jlaw won last year so. But it is still a race for this one.
TLK
It is quite possible that there may be some resentment against her among SAG voters which helped Lupita win but I can see other branches of Academy being more friendly towards her. BAFTA+GG is a good combination because it means that she has won two highest profile awards.
iceroll
I love Lupita, she's so amazing and funny too!
The Futurist
If Jlaw conquers this, my brain could possibly fry of happiness : - pleasure of seing her winning and establishing a new record. - pleasure of reading all the hate flowing against Jlaw because she s overrated, yaddy yaddah, she didn't deserve this for a meh performance etc etc ... insert your anti Jlaw rant here. This could be so entertaining. Edited February 23, 2014 by The Futurist
Michael Gary Scott
I dont think shes winning but if she does it be great but the backlash would only incrrase against her
The Stingray
There's always going to be backlash against someone who gets too successful too fast. It's the name of the game, unfortunately.

Ezen Baklattan
Jennifer Lawrence nominated for CF makes more sense than her nomination for American Hustle. She's ironically better in The Hunger Games movies than she is in David O. Russell's films.
altbum
Doesn't seem like Lawrence even WANTS to win this - she's pretty much MIA this time around.
TLK
She has nothing to gain by winning it this year. She would've been better off skipping this awards season but it looks like she will win anyway.
Ezen Baklattan
Final prediction: JLaw wins here, and it's Hustle's only win for the night. Much like SLP, interestingly enough.
