Weekend Estimates - (Pain & Gain: 20M, The Big Wedding: 7.5M)

Pain & Gain was a gift from Paramount to Michael Bay. They don't care if it makes any money for them.

Well, since it's a tiny budget, they will make it back easily.

Michael Bay is a  gift to the world so this movie is the least Paramount could do for him. And it`ll still make money.

Bay's Transformer's trilogy is bookmarked by The Island and Pain, two box office weaklings.

He's going to clamp down onto the TF cash cow even harder. Probably enough to do TF5 and TF6.

I'm not happy about that but at least he might appreciate the franchise more now.

The Island is his only flop.

Pain and Gain won't loose money and it is his smallest film since Bad Boys.

It was never designed to be a tentpole.

He is not milking anything with TF, Parmount is, they cornered him every time to do a sequel.

He s already filthy rich and has a George Lucas type deal with Hasbro and TF toys.

Bay doesn't need TF to put food on the table.

But thank you for trying, great effort.

lmao, do you realize:

1) Bay is the greedy-type and would never be satisfied with "food on the table"

2) Bay doubled his fortune from the Transformers trilogy alone. He will be close to half a billion in net worth by the time TF4 begins paying dividends. In other words 3 Transformer movies were worth more financially than his entire 15 year career up to that point.

Umm about the making money part ...

Bay, Wahlberg and Johnson have back end salaries which means that the films needs to gross way more than your regular movie in order to be profitable for the STUDIO

I'm pretty sure anything below 70 mil won't cover it

Which is great.  It's good to see three guys work on a project for the passion of it.  Bay has had this on his to do list for about 10 years.  As for Rock and Wahlberg, they will probably make a few million off it.  When it makes money WW, then it makes money on HV and cable and everything else, they will get paid.
