  1. Past hour
  2. I feel like postrak is too focused on the trees for the forest. A lot of stats and percentages that don't really mean that much
  3. They’re gonna cover it with so much CGI you’re gonna wonder why they built it in the first place.
  4. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-26/yen-drops-to-fresh-34-year-low-as-boj-keeps-key-rate-unchanged Yen Drops Beyond 157 Per Dollar as BOJ Keeps Key Rate Unchanged
  5. Challengers will be #1 today. Spy Family probably #5
  6. Basically, though I would say Challengers has quite a bit of tennis filmed in visually interesting ways. Maybe that explains the higher scores with men? Though as a female tennis fan of course I know women can like sports and sports movies, too. Ads hyping Challengers as "one of the sexiest movies ever made" gives the idea it's 50 Shades of Tennis (or more) and it's not. So people who wanted more "action" might be disappointed, though I think the Zendaya fangirls might have had a different issue with the movie than that. The movie has a ton of product placement, that probably helps offset the $55 million budget somewhat.
  7. Secret Wars coming soon with X-Men and alternate universe versions of dead Avengers
  8. About 4m ahead of KOTFM at the same time but KoTFM hold very great in the next 2 weekend, something that CW may have hard to top. Still looking for 65m-70m finish.
  9. Today
  10. For those who wanna keep record. $550K ish EA for Challengers and $1.6M THU.
  11. Very early nos for FRI would say $4-4.5M true FRI. $6.2-6.7M OD. $14-16M weekend may be.
  12. Looks like it closed out the week with $49,190,894 domestic. That actually seems pretty good to me.
  13. Writers strike screwed this movie. Deadpool should have stayed on the first weekend of May, while Fall Guy should have been moved to 2nd weekend May. FG would have benefited from being the first film to follow a May mega hit.
  14. It might be fun but it’s not an event film and/or an IP-based film (for anyone below the age of 50), which is basically the only way to get people to watch stuff in theaters nowadays. And apparently the premise isn’t clicking. They started off marketing this as an action romcom film with Gosling and Blunt, and now it seems like they’re pivoting to “love letter to stuntmen.” I think they just overestimated how much appeal this would have relative to the budget and it’s ability to be the first summer blockbuster.
  15. After reading Deadline’s article they do say quite clearly it includes the Early Access so I’m inclined to believe them
  16. DL just put up the first movie on the list. Paw Patrol is 10th https://deadline.com/2024/04/paw-patrol-the-mighty-movie-profits-1235895195/ We should get Barbie soon
  17. Challengers is a very good movie, even if not like critics were saying. Has a lot of lows but it's somehow a magnetic movie. but it's not for the big crowds...the movie is not set to incredible numbers so i guess most people going this weekend are kinda interested already to the director or Zendaya fans or whatever so they could say they like but i still think cinemascore is gonna be like a B at best.
  18. Only thing that pisses me off more than EA is EA that is not clearly reported/reported in mixed ways. I need to know for future comps does this $1.9M include all EA? Some? None??? Goddamit
  19. It’s definitely more of a Film Twitter film than a general audience film. Side note, men over 25 liked the film the most? Gee wonder why…
  20. Oh, and also, Fall Guy was amazing. I really hope that one is a hit when it arrives in America next weekend. David Leitch is 4 for 4 to me so far.
  21. Not enough tennis, not enough sex. Audiences going to see this for either one end up leaving unsatisfied.
