Might as well just see the movie. If you wanna lie about seeing it in the first place, chances are it's good enough.
And when I said it make sense sometimes I meant I can see why people would lie about having seen something huge like The Godfather or Gone with the Wind when they are at a party or something. Why I felt the urge to do it in this thread, I don't get.
First of all, why the fuck did the 18-year-old me lie about seeing 12 Angry Men (I didn't actually see it until last October)? I mean it makes sense in some instances but this is so random, I have no idea what I had to gain by naming it specifically.
1. The Night of the Hunter
2. Vertigo
3. Rear Window
4. Gun Crazy
5. Stromboli
6. The Killing
7. A Streetcar Named Desire
8. In a Lonely Place
9. The Seventh Seal
10. Paths of Glory
Still lots to see.
This was decent but it's pretty much the same mixture of Berg's good and bad tendencies as Lone Survivor (The overall approach is basically the same). The actual disaster sequence is undeniably impressive and harrowing so if you're gonna see this, might as well go to the theater.
Brilliant up until the ending which smacks of Hays Code. The social commentary hasn't aged a day. Douglas' performance is ridiculously good, one of the most ferocious I've ever seen in any movie.
I hope cinematically it follows The Hateful 8 where the setting may be small and isolated but they don't hold back on production & costume design and amazing-looking exteriors/backdrops outside the train. Make it a real MOVIE.
Maybe worldwide if it gets acclaim and sweeps the noms and is then lucky on top of that. With no Leo and no general thrills and adventure elements, I don't know what the hook would be for the GA.
