If you have never had the wind knocked out of you, and want to know what it's like, watch this film without knowing anything about the ending.  You'll get the same feeling.

Yes it is but as I said in the 'most shocking endings' topic in speakeasy its completely illogical

He shoots them and then the convoy comes from the front instead of coming from the back ?!?!

To me this shocked me more than the 'shocking' ending in some way ... it just totally bugged me out

I remember reading reviews about how shocking the ending was in this prior to seeing it, with my expectations of a shocking ending in place, I was still well and truly shocked. It's nice to see movie with balls, it doesn't come around often so when it does, you shouldn't miss it.A-

the camera work is kinda distracting and they discussing how the society would react in a great danger was forced, everything else was good to great. The ending was just  :mouthdropped: , masterfully done B+ (80)

note: almost the entire The Walking Dead cast was in this movie LOL

This film had a lot of the elements and jaw-dropping moments that I forgot existed in Darabont's first season of The Walking Dead.  The ending was grim as hell and definitely very memorable.  Overall, it was quite a strong movie with great performances but I'm just kind of annoyed at how stupid the script made out some of the characters to be.

I get that they were trying to go for the "arrogance of man"/"fear drives you to do crazy things" angle but some of it felt too unbelievable so some of the execution wasn't great and that's why I gave it a B.

Saw it today. The camera work is kinda distracting, like its sorta documentary style, but never goes all the way and makes it a bit jarring. Acting was decent all around.

The bugs are creepy and well done and that enormous alien at the end was crazy.

The ending is fucking amazing. Even tops the book in my opinion.

I remember as I watched this movie for the first time that I enjoyed it, it had a fun story going along, equal parts interesting and scary and tense. And then it ended. And became one of my favorite horror movies ever.

Rewatched this and oh, it is just as good as I remember! I recall that the first time I saw it left me in a very ugly mood. That ending is probably one of the most shocking in cinema history. Couple that with the huge satisfaction I got when a certain character was (finally) shot in the head and you get why this is one of my favorite films ever.
