rukaio101
Sequel to my favorite anime Psycho Pass season 2 is not being done by I.G and the original creator is not involved WHY!? I'am very worried That sucks man. Especially since Gen Urobuchi is not an easy writer to replace. Speaking of, the last episode of Aldnoah.Zero is airing tomorrow and I'm completely hyped. Admittedly, a part of me wishes they went for a full 26 episode season rather than having a second 13 episode season air in Winter. Then again, considering the fall line up includes new seasons of Fate Stay Night, Mushishi and Log Horizon as well as an adaptation of World Trigger, that interesting looking horror series posted earlier (Kiseijuu) and a series by Studio Ghibli... I'm going to be way too damned busy for the next few months. Edited September 19, 2014 by Rukaio Alter
rukaio101
Well, I just watched the last episode of Aldnoah Zero. And that cliffhanger is a bitch. My full opinion on the ep is below. Despite a great final scene, I'll admit I was kinda hoping for better from one of my favourite series in quite a while. Saazbaum's mech got taken out far too easily considering his role as the Big Bad. And 'Redshirt Slaughter Scene #273' felt like a waste of time. Also Lt Marito was painfully sidelined considering how much time the series has spent on his issues. But the biggest flaw, in my opinion, was that it didn't really feel like a finale episode (despite for all purposes acting like one). It just felt like a regular episode of the show right up until the final scene. Don't get me wrong, it feels like a good regular episode of the show, but it could've used a bit more tension. Now, I'm not the sort of person who insists a work has to kill off characters to be considered good, but I really feel the episode should've killed off one or two members of the side cast to create a better sense of suspence. Maybe Inko or Inaho's sister. Speaking of, while I'm assuming Inaho is going to pull through (somehow), I really hope Asseylum doesn't survive as well. Not because I dislike the character but because that's going to be the third bloody time they've tried to pull that trick and I haven't fallen for it once. That said, I'd hesitate to call the episode bad. Especially considering some of the finales I've seen to otherwise good series (*cough* Gatchaman Crowds *cough*). The action and music were great as always. And that finale scene was just fantastic and had one hell of a cliffhanger. So problems with the episode aside, there's no denying I'm looking forward to the next half of the series. On an unrelated note, I've started binging my way through Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun. And I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'll see if I can make it through in time for the series finale in a day or two.

We just stood there with our mouths open. This is the anime equivalent of The Red Wedding in Game of Thrones, but i think the princess is still alive as a frame for frame shot shows no headshot. Inaho however is probably dead. Sloane for worst character of 2014 Edited September 23, 2014 by eXtacy

I'll see if I can make it through in time for the series finale in a day or two. I can officially reveal that Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun was brilliant from start to finish. Fantastic supporting characters. Great humor. That style of humor may not click for everybody, but man, it sure resonated perfectly for me.
rukaio101
Since by now it's basically routine for me to post these, here's the chart for the Fall 2014 season. Speaking of, I just watched the first episode of both Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and Log Horizon Season 2. Both were naturally fantastic. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy Log Horizon. And my god, that fight between Archer and Lancer in FSN was absolutely gorgeous. Even if the episode did start off a little slow, it's obvious the show is going to be far better than Studio Deen's shitstain adaptation of the Fate Route. As for the other series I'm following, World Trigger starts tomorrow and Kisejuu is on Wednesday so looking forward to those. Although, now I think about it, though, considering the new Ghibli series is beginning next Saturday and Mushishi the Saturday after that... between those, FSN and Log Horizon, my Saturday nights are going to be ridiculously busy. eXtacy
Fate Stay Night (2014) could be the stand out anime of the year if the prologue episode is to go by. This is a must watch. Grisaia no Kajitsu was also a nice debut episode, the art-style is quite cinematic in that it has a 2:35-1:00 frame ratio. The first 15 minutes it seemed like it was going to be a slice of life/harem but the last 5 minutes prove its likely not. Very interesting Rage of Bahamut - Well animated and thrilling fight scenes, this one is worth checking out and could turn out pretty good. It is based a card game so there is some blatant commercialism More recommendations to come.. (I'm hyped for Psycho Pass Season 2 and Parasyte) Edited October 7, 2014 by eXtacy

True dat. It may be a bit early to make conclusions but this seems very likely to end up closer to Fate/Zero on the quality scale than DEEN's Fate Stay Night adaptation. I really hope Ufotable gets around to remaking the Fate route if only so I can recommend this series to people without having to get them to watch the DEEN series first so they know what's going on (since the original Visual Novel is rather difficult to come across out of Japan). rukaio101
Parasyte possible contender for anime of the year. Exceptional debut episode. This is a must see! While I'd definitely call it a very good debut, I'm not sure it's AOTY contender yet. Fate Stay Night, on the other hand, just keeps getting better and better. If every episode stays at the same quality as those first two, this is going to more than rival Fate/Zero in quality. And Fate/Zero is one of my favourite series period. So far, from what I've watched (2 episodes of each except Parasyte), I'd rank them.... Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works > Log Horizon Season 2 > Parasyte > World Trigger

rukaio101
I felt Parasyte's first ep didn't concentrate enough on the titular Parasytes and spent too much time on the typical 'weird things happening that our protag is clueless about even though it's kinda obvious to the audience what actually is happening' stuff that really kinda bugs me if done poorly. Also, Shinichi is a very dull protagonist with a dull home and school life. That was what marked it down from 'potential AOTY status' for me. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good. Migi looks like a fascinating Deuteragonist and the Parasyte effects remind me heavily of 'The Thing', which is always a good sign. So it's definitely one I'm likely to keep watching. It just isn't at AOTY level for me right now.

eXtacy
Now that I have seen 3 episode of most things these are the top animes worth watching this season Parasyte, Fate Stay Night, You Lie In April and Rage of Bahamut
Rorschach
I'm addicted to Attack in Titan. I won't be satisfied with this addiction until I find out when season 2 comes out (the absolute latest would probably be Spring 2016). Want. More. Information!
