I don't know... trailer was goofy, silly and with bad using of innapropriate music. But it shows space exploration, interactions with some aliens on their homeworld etc. Typical 'trek' motives. Of course in action packed style, but still.
Chinoiserie
While the editing and music of the trailer makes the film seem like Guardians or Fast and Furious, what I can see of the plot of film it does not seem that far away from Star Trek you would think. So this could be just a marketing stragecy to make the films seem more like Guardians or Fast and Furious but this is not actually the case. Charism
I hope that they later try to sell this movie to ST fans, because it will be a movie to celebrate 50 years of the series.

TriggerMike
pretty sure the GA will enjoy the trailer. Not the best but good enough to strike people's interest. Anybody know the budget for the movie?

RobinHood26
Pegg seemed pretty disappointed with the trailer, like super bummed out.
Jayhawk the Hutt
I'm not gonna judge a movie because of the marketing departments choice of trailer music. The plot still seems solid, and could lead to a very interesting Star Trek movie, that hardcore fans(which I'm not one of) will be more receptive to than the last one. Maxmoser3
This looked fun by the trailer. I mean it's going to be darker but this is taking a new direction from a new director unlike JJ Abrams. So this would be interesting to see. Jessie
Why the hate for the trailer music? it was in the first movie, it has every right to be there. It would be like a GOTG2 trailer featuring 'come and get your love' in its teaser and everyone complaining.

DeeCee
I loved Pegg's honesty there. There is hope in the universe. Have some of you not watched the last 2 Star Trek films? They both had The Beastie Boys. Edited December 17, 2015 by DeeCee
