Transformers: The Last Knight | 6/21/2017 | Big Budget, Weak OW?

Recommended Posts

The action looks good, so I'll obviously be there opening night.  But the whole 15 year old tough girl thing is just kind of stupid.

"You think I'm afraid of you?"

Duh, yea, you should be.  They're fucking giant killing machines.  You're made of bone and tissue.

Stupid

There're tons of stupid stuff like this in the all previous TF films as well. Logic has never been a priority in this franchise.

So you are turned off by the stupidity of that scene in a movie series that is defined by stupidity, implausibility, and big bad robots engaging in destruction porn? Ok.

I don't really understand what this trailer is trying to convey.  I want Meagan in her Daisy Dukes or Whitely looking hot or even Peltz looking hot.  I'm not going to a Transformers film for feminism.  I mean wtf is the trailer telling me?  That girls can do what boys can?  Well gee thanks.  I had no idea.  Seriously.  Transformers is not about this.  And furthermore, shouldn't there be some kind of plot announced by now?

This last trailer is extremely disappointing.

If Hollywood has to use a Transformers movie to project feminism (they're not), then that would be pure desperation

I don't get this. Bay's previous movies were always attacked for being sexist movies (and I do agree about this), so, what's the problem if he tries to bring a strong female this time for a change? I would rather this than another Peltz situation.

There Are Secrets To Be Uncovered In This IMAX Poster For Transformers: The Last Knight

Spoiler

If you’re still pining for more Transformers: The Last Knight content following yesterday’s deluge of motion posters, Paramount has just the answer: the official and downright mythic IMAX poster for Michael Bay’s blockbuster sequel.

Rather than shining the spotlight on an eye-popping set piece, or franchise veteran Optimus Prime striking a battle pose, this evocative one-sheet is actually engraved onto a colossal Arthurian shield. First spotted by TFW2005 (via /Film), if you lean close enough you’ll be able to pinpoint some of The Last Knight‘s major story elements, including the advent of Dragonstorm, a Cybertronian Knight capable of morphing into a mechanical three-headed dragon that was first teased almost a year ago. Other narrative clues include a nod to Unicron (or is that Cybertron?) on a collision course with planet Earth, not to mention Optimus and Megatron presiding over two separate armies of robots.

One way or another, all of this ties into the film’s King Arthur subplot. Once Upon a Time star Liam Garrigan is one board to play the iconic British leader, and those of you who have been keeping track of Transformers: The Last Knight will no doubt remember the smattering of set photos that teed up a medieval battle. However, for Optimus and the gang, it’s the promise of a powerful artifact that sparks an interest in King Arthur, one that may just hold the power to restore Cybertron to its former glory.

Every legend hides a secret, it seems, and Transformers: The Last Knight will carve out a new chapter in the franchise’s lore on June 23rd. Driven by the success of an internal writers room, Paramount has drawn up plans for a Bumblebee spinoff movie and Transformers 6, which may well herald the moment when Michael Bay passes the torch on to another director. Stay tuned for more on that one.

Quote

The second spot in our analysis was shared between The Fate of the Furious and Transformers: The Last Knight. The Transformersfranchise performed best on Twitter, where its 30,181 tweets were the most among the six films that aired trailers. It followed that up with a third place in Facebook like increases before coming in second to last in the Ad Meter.

But how am I supposed to imagine having sex with this?

Shit I piled on (you're not wrong)...nonetheless love you Baumer!  I do love Michael Bay and hot girls bending over things, make no mistake about that.

But hey still robots blowing shit up.

Wow I don't think Paramount understands their target audience. I don't think I've disliked someone who I'm supposed to be rooting for more from a trailer in recent memory. We wanted more Transformers...not the humans. The Transformers were hardly even in the trailer.

And Jesus Michael Bay, why not just call it Transformers: The Feminist Knight while you're at it.

I have no issue with female leads but those lines made me cringe. Instead of integrating this idea into the movie and showing the audience how resourceful the lead female is (Edge Of Tomorrow & Mad Max: Fury Road), you completely beat the audience over the head with bad dialogue telling us instead. I know progressiveness is hot in Hollywood right now but this is not the way to do it. Subtlety has never been your strong suit though...

I'll admit that I've seen every one of these in theaters for dumb popcorn fun but will probably pass this time.

I think Paramount just shot themselves in the foot because you aren't the only one reacting this way. This franchise already is made fun of enough that this was the last thing that it needed.

Actually it's not. It's how many are reacting viewing this trailer too. The best movies with strong female leads are written to show you how badass they are through their actions not their words.

This was so cringe inducing.
