Er.... no it doesn't?

The snow stuff looks pretty, but it is snow. Snow cascading from the sky always looks pretty.

But, in my opinion, the stuff inside is unexceptional and that is where the 70mm really should of worked its magic.

Joy, The Revenant, Sicario and The Son of Saul all look really gorgeous. I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't gain any award traction this season.

And you're basing this off a streaming Youtube clip?

Seeing it how it is intended to see will definitely help, but there is only so much the format can do. :)

I probably sound like a huge QT adversary after the past few days. I'm so not lol.

I'm shocked JJL doesn't have a single line in this trailer after how much Mr. Tarantino hyped her up.

Apparently the vast majority of this takes place in the cabin. Given my fondness for Res Dogs and the opening of Basterds, I like the sound of that.

Without spoiling too much, based off my two readings of the script, I'd say this movie is pretty much Res Dogs set in the Old West.

But it's Tarantino vs Gareth Edwards.

Film nerds should know better.

While Tarantino is obviously a living legend, Gareth Edwards has been really fucking good so far. Monsters was great and any problem with Godzilla had nothing to do with his direction, he knocked that shit out of the park.

I think, like with Nolan and some of the Interstellar marketing, if this didn't have Tarantino's name it wouldn't be as highly praised as it is. Don't get me wrong, its a pretty good teaser, but if this was by some nobody director, it would likely be met with mild interest rather than "gotta see this movie."

That being said, this IS Tarantino, so I gotta see this movie!!!! However, I'm not sure if this has as good of a hook as Django did, and I'm wondering if it will be able to be as commercially successful as that film.
