It was No. 1 with a very strong $7.5M on 768 screens — especially when a lot of young boys were still wrapped up in hopes this week that Les Bleus might continue to advance in the World Cup. In total, HTTYD2 picked up $33.5M from 9,732 screens in 59 overseas territories. Also notable was the film’s 18% increase on last weekend in Australia with $2.7M. Mexico ($2.6M) and Brazil ($2.2M) were still No. 1 in their 3rd frames. The international cume is $153.2M, with the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Korea, and China still to come. redgarlic68
So last weekend this was at $109m overseas and now at $153m only with France opening? Yes!!! It seems that the WC was affecting it quite a bit. The beginning of the summer holidays must have helped it a lot as well.

redgarlic68
No , not only us, There are also the other markets when it already opened. Yes, but the other markets weren't expected to add much to its tally by now, having earned 50 million in its second week/third weekend is quite surprising. TServo2049
I think it also opened in most of the smaller European markets this weekend? The reports say it's now in 59 markets total. IMDB lists Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland as having released this past few days. (I can't find any info on when it releases in Austria.) And I believe this was also its official release weekend in Hong Kong. But none of the actual OW numbers for those countries were mentioned in the reports. Corpse
Nothing for Japan yet? No released is set yet. But Fox is still listed as the distributor which is important. It is also among the Top 100 most-searched films on some local sites right now, and has more check-in/likes than past unreleased films like The Croods or Ice Age 4 despite not being in release, so that's good news. That in my opinion shows there's some interest there.

Hilderic
Wasn't exactly my question. My question was, do you have any idea (from past experience) if Fox is already including them in the reported OS cume total yet, or will the 2 weeks of previews be added into the OS cume after the real OW? BOM has a UK weekend number for last weekend - though I'm not sure if it includes the England/Wales previews, or just the Scotland/Ireland/Northern Ireland early-release numbers. (And since those aren't previews, would THOSE already be in the OS cume?)I'm curious about this as well. HTTYD2 has already grossed $10m in the British Isles and I wonder whether that's already included.

TServo2049
Wow, so the reported $153.2m OS cume really DOESN'T include the money from the UK previews? If so, sketchy as that is, at least it'll make next weekend's OS total look better. Edited July 7, 2014 by TServo2049
