Deep Wang
Mrs. Tele showed Tele Jr. the LEGO trailer and he gestured with his hands and said "More, peez". Have you ever accidentally called them Tele Jr. or Mrs. Tele? I'm super tired and cannot type correctly. rockNrollaDIM
I went to Legoland in Denmark once. It was surprisingly crappy to be honest.
AndyLL
Well, excuse me... You and your son are obviously living the life, with your LEGO LEGOs and whatnot. I funded at least 1/2 of the movie

grey ghost
Hindsight is 20/20. It's clear now betting The Lego Movie hits 60 m was the safe bet, not Monuments Men under 20 m. The latter has me pretty nervous.
vc2002
Even this is a too-early report, all trackings seem to indicate a big OW for the Lego movie. And its rating on RT is even more astonishing. With a great OW and great legs, would it break 250m?
MovieMan89
Holy shit Lego!!!! Didn't think that was even possible in February. So happy for it though! I wonder what this puppy could have pulled for OW in the summer.
TLK
Monuments Men had a Super Bowl trailer. There is a clear recent pattern of super bowl helping movies over-perform their tracking so I am expecting Monuments Men to open to around $25 million.

I think that just goes to show that if you make something that people will want to see, they will see it, no matter what time of year it is.

True, but even still I have to believe the OW would have been even bigger with a summer or Holiday release.

Could have been lost in the summer/Holiday shuffle too. Look at al the big tentpoles who crashed and burned last summer.

Well, that is a possibility, but there is also a ton more competition in the summer. DM2 might have hit $400m if it weren't for Turbo, Planes and Smurfs cutting in to the demo. The best competition is no competition or very weak competition like Frozen faced.

Fancyarcher
I thought Lego would be big, but I didn't think it would be this big. In hindsight it's not really that big. It just depends on legs. Edited February 8, 2014 by Fancyarcher

grim22
Someone at Hollywood Reporter probably got really drunk and started live tweeting the Olympic opening ceremony. There are some extremely stupid and some downright misinformed comments in the feed right now. Some examples: Hollywood Reporter @THR 23m I've been told I can only say #PussyRiot three times. Instead, I'm gonna say #VaginalUprising. No limits! #sochi #OpeningCeremony Hollywood Reporter @THR 20m I want to buy Paraguay some hot cocoa and gossip about Norway. #sochi #OpeningCeremony Hollywood Reporter @THR 19m Nice outfits, Poland. Well played. You can continue. Try the veal. #sochi #OpeningCeremony Hollywood Reporter @THR 5m 105.7 million people in the Philippines and one dude who can figure skate. #sochi #OpeningCeremony
