Horner was really one of a kind. Zimmer was just as good up to a point, but he's been trippin for the last 15 or so years.

Not sure who's left, capable of even appproaching horner. Michael giacchino might be ok. Clint mansell might be able to surprise. Heck, even junkie xl might not be a bad choice. Maybe even BRian tyler.

??. What films did Howard score?

An incredibly obscure trilogy called Lord of the Rings.

JC movies tend to have weaker dialogue overall which made me admire Horner even more because he know how to "cover" up JC weakness of the dialogue and allow audience to mix score and visual into a single sensational.

Simon isn't able to replicate that trick and hence the weak dialogue become more noticeable than under Horner' score.

Zimmer's man of steel score was awesome.

I disagree on the dialogue. As Titanic, aliens terminator 2 show bigtime especially. Horners score just goes so well with the visions and writing JC lays out. They are just sensational together. I rem Horners Braveheart"s music helped elevate that wonderful movie as well Brother Titanic.

Anecdotal from germany. Avatar 2 has by far the broadest appeal i ever saw in my friendscircle. Many marvel fans which of course are always hyped about the next mcu movie, but many people who dont even watch many movies - bond, marvel, harry potter, star wars or so on -  wanted to watch Avatar 2. Not even hyped about it like we didnt talk about the movie before the release but now most of them are interesed in it.

I'm hoping we can creep to 45m. Seems Megan might have stolen some of the legs, so 50mil could be out. Let's see what happens. Share your thoughts my brothers. Quick note.Funny how you give folks the sources to checkout on giants and ancient history and they don't check things out quick to ridicule and show ignorance. But it doesn't explain people from USA, Jamaica, Trinidad, Solomon islands , native Americans all passing down oral history to current on these things.

I'm just glad alot of people can research and think out of the box or goodness we'd  be in trouble all ..

Hope someone starts a mystery thread 😂.  I love some of these topics my pandoriansm

Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings scores are the best of all time on my mind.

Funny enough I just watched Fellowship of the Ring last night. They don't make movies like that anymore.

Cool those scores are amongst the best. Have that naturelord of the rings GIF mountain or land adventurer tones in the music like Horners Braveheart. Love the flutes and bagpipes added to scores🦝👍

You have definitely peaked my curiosity on

Seeing what other scores Howard has done.
